This is a 16 cm. vase (6.something") in a most vivid intense opaque yellow colour. The bottom is polished flat, and the pinched top obviously underwent some effect from working it as the rim seems somewhat paler.
I know that Leerdam used this colour in the twenties; I know this colour has been used in Pekin glass - but both were more austere in their shapes.
So any suggestions as to this small but visible item - please come forward.

40 viewers and no replies - I think I asked the right question :-)
So here are two further pics. I remembered the slightly raised and highly polished foot on my unidentified opal tulip vase and there is a striking resemblance. Both are six lobed, the working of the foot is identical.
Maybe this helps.

I did wonder if it was American but the opal thingy makes it seem less likely.

My first thought was Japanese or American, but I can't find anything of either to give a comparison. Just an aside - the colour is very greeny yellow to me on my monitor - do you have a piece of Imperial yellow Peking glass to compare it to for colour at least? I think it's slightly different and I wonder if that might help date it as well (remembering that Adam said making yellow glass was difficult).

It only looks greenish at the top to me. Have you checked it with the old UV light?

Sure I checked UV but no glow of any kind. The yellow is not at all greenish - please calibrate your monitor for winter time. It is a Chromat yellow (like Dutch trains, and my Brother label maker) and the edge is bright cadmium yellow - like my Swatch. I have no other solid yellows in the house for comparison.
I googled lots of options - but solid yellow is not a common glass colour because it is hard to make, as it burns easily and turns brown. Most is clear cased. Japanese might be an option but I get stuck in pages of beads and eye glasses.
