Why is that Fratt. Toso? :rah: :rah: :rah:
Maybe it is Toso ( it looks like that everything is Toso, because nobody knows what had happend in Murano) ,
but in my opinion not as late as described ( about 1920).
When I compare the canes in my Murano collection and the books it looks like Murano, secon half of 20thC.
I would like to have other opinions.

Well, it does say +/-, so maybe it's +/- 50 years. ;D I don't know how old it is or if it is even Fratelli Toso. The rim reminds me more of AVeM. But much of their stuff looked alike.

Casalibre- it looks very similar to a couple of Fratelli Toso vases I acquired a wee while ago. Light ,delicate and you can feel the murrines that make up the vase-inside usually shiny and the outside acid treated. One of mine has a slightly degraded acid finish. C1915-1925 would be about right-in one of my murano books there are a number of pages devoted to these lovely items Pina I think, Fratelli Toso Italian Glass 1854-1980, published by Schiffer. If I was at home in NZ I would go for that one- it looks right and the pictures are very good and have a lot of similarities to my two-three is such a lovely number for glass don't you think!
Hope my comments help-regards Carol

Its about 2 years ago, when I thought: I shall write a book about murano glass, canes and weights......;
I have been in Murano "e`anche in Italia tante volte"....;
but then I have give it up, because " il casino" about Muranoglass is very big.
Lets wait what Alan will say about the opinions.
He is one of the best.

Hi Carol!
I do not believe what you are saying and also: I do not believe what Leslie Pina presumes, or what you have read in her book!
All I know is, that all the english or american specialists of muranoglass do not know what really happend at murano and betweenn the glassmakers over there.
This in a mess at Murano is much stronger as in Scotland ( where we have had walking canes).
My books about Muranoglass are only 1 meter, but I could not found any valid reason for 1920 plus/minus!
In my opinion your pictures are showing items from Murano about 1960 plus/minus!
Kind regards

Casalibre- what a minefield Murano glass is ! I have seen comments on this board about L Pina and miss attribution,incorrect research etc and so hold myself open to correction with attribution. I hope a definitive answer pops up before long.
