Forgetting the signature for a moment, I have to say this doesn't look Murano to me, and the signature seems to back this up.

I do feel a little shame-faced saying this...but I thought the signature looked a little like a postcode....

I hate sticking my head above the parapet!  (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/peepwallA.gif)

The first word does look a little like Milk! Milk Tray? :D

But I have seen similar items with the spaced out millefiori listed on eBay with generic 'Murano' stickers, but did wonder if they were imports? Alternatively perhaps it's a Studio Art piece.

Hello David 555,
Never seen the signature either on a Murano piece. Sorry :(
I would agree with DenCill, that it is most likely a studio glass piece.

Well, I've seen vases like these actually being made in Murano!

In fact, I've got a video of someone actually making one

Hi Leni,
It might just be! Just havent seen any signatures like it on newer Murano pieces, or older pieces. I agree the style is similar to the new pieces being made. Might mean a good research project for David55 :)

I think that this is definitely Murano, without a doubt.  The glassworks 3 Fiori made some similar vases a few years ago.  I recognise the millefiori canes from their paperweights.  Those oval labels - often silver - seem to be used on items for export.  It may therefore just be the stock number.

Thanks everyone -

The photo of sig or number is the best I could get after ages LOL - I like the post saying it looks like POSTCODE - so it does, I know that company well LOL

In this country the police used to hand out leaflets: "engrave your postcode in everything of value" - so on your VCR, on your laptop, on your pets, on your favouite vases, your bicycle and your wife.....

In the UK they recommend the use of those pens that only show up under black light.

Can't find your wife in the dark? - just get your blacklight torch out!
