Title: Serbian glass - No, Bulgarian!

Here is a hollow blown clear cased glass dish, with a white under and decoration of red fibers (copper?) and brown powder.

The sticker says "Novi Pazar" in cyrilic. Novi Pazar is a city in Serbia-Montenegro. I've not been able to find anything about glass there - I thought the glass factory in Paracin was the only Serbian one.

Hi Ivo,
Right town, wrong country perhaps?
You should, I think, be looking for Novy Pazar, in Bulgaria, which houses a college of fine ceramics and glass, and which with other local towns produces @ 30% of all Bulgarian glass,

Look for the Varna Region section on this page.

Bravo Marcus. I always believed the glass was from Bulgaria but I googled Novi Pazar and only got the Serbian entry.  :D
