I'm considering purchasing a very large, ocean blue Cenedese battuto vase from a dealer who believes it's a priceless masterpiece (slight exaggeration). It's signed with inscribed "Cenedese" on bottom, and is in a simple conical shape, measuring about 14 inches tall. The texture has a heavily chiseled look with white scratches on surface. Overall it's pretty stunning. I cannot for the life of me find a reference to anything like it in any books or on the net, and my hunch is that it's not vintage but rather 1980s, 1990s or 2000s. Does anyone know when this line was produced and its approximate cost when new? And who designed it?

There has been some battuto work produced over the last few years by Simone Cenedese, some in conjunction with Ivan Baj. Seems to crop up mainly in galleries with prices in the $800-1,300 range.
Not sure whether or not your piece falls into this series of work but may be a good starting point.

Images on the net don't point in the direction of Simone, but I'll keep digging. The shape is a simple conical shape, like a pint-sized drinking glass only 5 times larger.
Point of clarification. Did/does Simone sign work with a simple "Cenedese" inscribed on bottom? Also, there's some confusion about when this inscribed signature was used. Has the successor firm to Cendedese, G. Cenedese & Sons (post 1973) always used this inscribed signature? How frequently and when did the original Cenedese company use this inscribed signature?
