Title: Carnival? New? ID = Jeanette "Floragold" aka "Louisa".
Post by: Della on March 08, 2006, 03:35:33 PM
Well Glen,
This came today. Seeing as my knowledge or Carnival is virtually nil. Your opionion, as always, would be greatly welcomed.
This is definitely iridescent, but is it classed as Carnival?
As for age, it looks like it came out of the factory yesterday!
I am not even sure what it should be, it is too big for a butter dish.....biscuits maybe?

Thank you.......a million times over.

Hi Della - it's Jeanette's "Floragold" aka "Louisa". Made in the 1950s. I think what you have there is a covered candy dish.

Hope this helps.

Yes Glen, of course it helps. :D  Any information on a piece is always wonderful. I think daughter no. 2 will probably claim this one.....she is called Louise.
Daughter no. 3 will make good use of it until her sister decides to leave the army.

Oh, and of course, another BIG thank you.

Oh that's perfect - she's called Louise! That's wonderful.

I have a set of tumblers in this pattern which I really enjoy. The charm of them is that I don't feel guilty about using them (hey, imagine using a Frolicking Bears tumbler that cost $15,000). And that just ads to the pleasure of the glass for me.
