Title: another poser
Post by: saorsa on August 02, 2006, 08:15:37 PM
Hi all , here is another tricky one for you all , i have listed a  green glass vase on ebay  , i am unsure of its origins or indeed date it was made .

its a hand blown piece with a flattened base with an indented pontil ,  white lined glass with  worn gilding to the inside rim of the vase , it stands 7.5 inches tall , and is ovoid shaped ,
gilt relief moulding has been added to the glass , and it is finished with quite a delicate Peacock decorated with enamels and gilt
i have included some links to my web host below .
Thanks in anticipation again

wow we don't see many of those around here. I think it is Mt. Washington Crown Milano glass - but you'll need a specialist in American 19th ct. art glass to confirm it

Definitely not Mt. Washington..they never made anything in a greenish color...most of their stuff was off-white..also, they didn't use peacocks in any of their decorations...
