Title: J Tomey & Sons, Makers Eureka Scotch Glass

Please, I am cleaning out a hardware store in Ontario, Canada and have found glass tubes of various sizes.  The labels have a trade mark that says J Tomey & Sons, Makers  EST 1855 Eureka Guage Glass.  Also around the label it says Genuine Scotch Guage Glass.  Could anyone tell me what these were for and if there is a market somewhere for them.  Really don't want to throw them out, its heavy walled glass, nice.

Hi,

There is a tiny community of collectors for these, me! On eBay they sell when I don't have an example and go unsold when I do :lol: They were one of John Moncrieff's companies and a brand that was intended to soak up the lower price market. Moncrieff's Perth Gauge glass was the leader at that time. I am still busy on the research of Moncrieff and Tomey but you can see the current state of this research here:
