Welcome to the board, hope you'll be able to get lots of pieces identified. This one is too simple for Murano. Your vase was most probably made in Poland. There are several manufacturers of coloured decoration vases, but Tarnowiecz, Makora and Josefina jump to mind...  It is a very nice and decorative vase, but it will not break the bank, sorry.

Mod: David, I have changed the title of the thread to better reflect your query. Always best to make the title as descriptive as possible (but also fairly short).

There is a fair to very good chance this pattern is a Czech glass design, Borocrystal, Prachen, by Hospodka, even if the shape is slightly unusual for it, the woven pattern is distinctive, Jindrich may be able to clarify this for us...

This is Czechoslovakian piece from 1965, Chribska glassworks, designed by Josef Michael Hospodka.
Very nice piece in fact with internal ornaments from soda bubbles.

Thank you, David and Jindrich, with the help of your photos I have been able to identify a piece of glass a friend of mine has as this very stuff.  I would have responded sooner, but had to check it out more closely before being sure.  I appreciate your help, thank you very much.   :hiclp:  :kissy:  :rah:  :t:  :smg:

On international auctions like invaluable and Artfact etc. these vases are without exception always attributed to Giulio Radi. I have three different vases of this design and luckily bought them all at a "bargain" price. I have seen these pieces change owner for more than $1500,-
Your identification of this vase has saved me a very costly mistake. Thanks! :sun:
Still despite the disappointment of not owning 3 real Radies they do look spectacular together under a halogen spot.
The photo shows the best of the three.

Do you buy glass or authors?
Even Chribska it is excellent piece!!!

I wrote to seller at eBay that attribution is wrong but no change.

Hi Jindrich,

I do agree with you, and this vase really stands out as an excellent piece of work.
Actually they are pretty hard to come by.
But at a certain price level it starts to be investment and than the designer becomes a relevant issue.
Attached a photo of a green vase I recently purchased. Also very skillfully made and beautiful colors.

Thanks again for your lead,
Hans

For years we have wondered about the origins of the two items below. They have clearly been made with precision and some complexity. There is a net of what is possibly some foil material inside the glass (in the expanded condition the material looks grainy, like sand) and the bases are finely polished. The taller one is 29cm high and the wider one is 12cm diameter at the widest.

The suggestion on some internet auction sites of design by Giulio Radi for AVEM seemed unsatisfactory. Now, of course, we know they are from the mid-1960s by Josef Hospodka for Chribska Glassworks. Thanks, everyone.
