A recent purchase... a hand-cleaved 'iceberg' sculpture with polished front and back and a reindeer stood on snowy tundra engraved to the front.
Base is signed Handmade Kronoberg - Sweden 1219 R.S Lu.W. (or Lv.W.)
The design is highly reminiscent of Lindstrand designs for Kosta, but the signature doesn't tally.
Any ideas for the number/letter codes? And apologies for the rubbish blurry photos - I've not had time to set up my lighting.

Nic — The link to your first picture isn't working for me.

Odd - I uploaded using the board's picture hosting, and it looks to work fine on my system.
I'll chuck it over to Photobucket, in case anyone else is having the same problem.

Seems to be Hovmantorp, designed by Rune Strand. So that dates design between 1968-77.
-
And Lv.W is engraver Laila von Wendel.
-
I can't find any record of Wendel working for Hovmantorp... but I have found examples of her work with Rune Strand for Strömbergshyttan, where she worked until 1979 - but the coding on the base of mine doesn't tie in with Strömbergshyttan production, but I have found similar numbering on definite Hovmantorp.
So now I'm confused.
-
You confused? So what about us? :24:
-
;D I was hoping you'd all be less confusable.
-
Mystery solved, thanks to a terribly kind person on the Swedish glass board with connections to Åke Bergqvist, ex-Strömbergshyttan engraver.
Hovmantorp's New Glassworks closed in 1977 and Kronoberg Glas, in 1979, bought Hovmantorp's design catalogue, including the Rune Strand designs, and all remaining cullet from the factory owners - hence the exactitude to Hovmantorp's green blocks. Von Wendel worked for Kronoberg Glas from 1981, engraving these glass blocks.
I no longer have to talk to myself in this thread. ;D

:hiclp: Congratulations on solving singlehandedly what must be one of the most confusing puzzles ever on this board. :hiclp:

I think the big :hiclp: should go to the goodly folk of www.precisensan.com, to Åke Bergqvist who provided the information, and to the publishers of my Swedish dictionary.
