Title: Red with Blue and Gold Metal Flecks not signed ?
Post by: dculvyho on March 23, 2012, 12:10:54 AM
I was hoping someone might have some information about this paperweight.  I found one similar on Ebay claimed to be Murano and another on Ebay claimed to be from Sweden.  I would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Doug

Personally I don't think it is Murano.  Rotating the image of the base 180degrees shows an impressed O. C. ?. where the ? is a letter I can not make out but you may be able to decipher.  For whatever reason I am assuming they are the markings of an American studio.  They are quite unusual in that I assume the base has subsequently ground flat so they must hyave been quite deep.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the input.  Those areas that look like letters are reflections from the picture.  I am uploading a couple more pictures which show two small wholes which are about 6 mm (1/4 in) deep and a crevice 18mm (3/4 in) long.  I assume these were left behind from the process used to make the paperweight.  The paperweight is about 11.5 cm (4.5 in) tall and 7.6 cm (3 in) across at the widest point.

Thanks
