Title: My 3rd piece of 'old glass' Victorian ?
Post by: petet63 on November 15, 2012, 04:59:31 PM
This is my third attempt at an old piece of glass. This one is 11.5cm in height and 5.5cm diameter foot. It has 6 facets on the bowl as well as the stem. The facets overhang just below the lip. A six sided foot that is quite thick at 5mm. The pontil area is concave and smooth. It doesnt have much wear on the base as it sits on the outer edge. Just a guess until I get more time but could it be Victorian ?? A Jelly Glass ??  A cheap buy at £2 and worth a look into. Thanks all.

Did you realise that it is pressed glass?   I think the pattern is called Georgian.

No i didn't. The smooth pontil area was my 'doubt' and thinking on it would be difficult to get the flared part at the top. What age would it be ? It's worth £2 to learn I have a lot to learn. I will learn not to be in a hurry when looking. Thanks Bernard C.
