Spiderweb with metal lid and base,is the finial an original ;D

I seem to recall that the one TC has had a (beige or green?) bakelite type finial....  I've not seen that shape one before. It looks wrong stylistically, doesn't it?

I would it's OK. These lucite finials were quite common for the period.

Several different types have been noted and also on other non-Chance items. All will be revealed...
