Title: Modern Ridged Platter
Post by: Hotglass on November 30, 2005, 01:12:49 AM
Hi Everyone
A good friend of mine seems to think that this 14" ridged platter could be Czech but I see it as Scandinavian possibly Ittala ?

Any information greatly appreciated.

This is the second of these I have seen images for, in two days, one in the US and this one. Your friend has good reason for thinking Czech, as there was a very similar pattern, with the seemingly irregular edge, coming out of Sklo Union Teplice, designed by Panak, from the mid 1970's. I'll try to find the images shortly, but I have a feeling Panak's table-ware did not have the clear centre.
Regards,
Marcus

This is not from the set, of which I was thinking, "Juta", but may could still be a Czech product, as this type of irregular edged piece (ie Zejmon's "Dandelion" pieces) seem to have been made at Libochovice and elsewhere.
Will keep looking,
regards,
Marcus
