Yes, there certainly is such a thing as Red Carnival Glass.

It was made in "old" Classic Carnival mainly by Fenton. It has also been made in more recent times by various glass makers - including Fenton.

Can you tell us more about your nappy - or better still, post a photo (see the sticky at the top of the forum for how to post pics).

Your photos could possibly be too large.
Try reducing them and then re-upload.  :)

If all else fails you can always email them, using the email button under this message and I will post them for you.

Hi Welcome to the board. Nettiquette says the ALL CAPS is considered to be shouting and therefore a bit rude, it's also hard to read. Good luck with posting your picture. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Starbecker, as Della says, that usually means your pictures are too big - they need to be 200kb or less to save them to GlassGallery. If you need help with it please feel free to shout me.  8)

Many thanks to Anne for posting the image - and also to Della.

Starbecker - your piece was made by Imperial Glass (Ohio). The name of the pattern is Pillar Flute (Imperial's #682) and the shape is a handled, oval pickle dish.

I need to ask if the glass is definitely iridised (Carnival). I just can't tell from the photo, but it does seem like maybe it is not iridised. The Carnival examples of this pattern are not usually known in red. Some scarce items are known in Pillar Flute, in Imperial's red Carnival - but generally the range is found in marigold or clambroth.

Title: Red Glass Bowl
Post by: starbecker on August 09, 2006, 09:20:11 PM
Thank you for checking this out for me.  I took it outside and held it up to the sky, it seemed to show an orangish hue and when holding it dow to the shade, it just  looked dark red.
I did not think it was Carnival glass, but did want to know when and where it was made before I attempt to sell it.
Again, thanks for your help.
Mary  :)
