Found 4 of these at the weekend in the hope they had a uranium content but noooooo ;D. Am assuming they are some sort of dessert bowl? Any ideas of origin and age please

boy o boy I happened to be looking for something else and came across this site which shows these glasses

They have been around for quite a numbr of years now, i was in Helsinki a few years ago and saw the full range displayed - there must be at least 20 different colours. Pce varies according to colour: reds were impossibly expensive.

I have never ever seen these before, I certainly would not have put these down to Scandinavian. Just did a search and Google brought up hundreds and hundreds of images ;D....... so much to learn ::)

pfft and double pfft I managed to smash one yesterday.......butter fingers ::) ::) ::)

I would highly doubt that these were designed by Kaj Franck.
They are not in the Iittala book, and no other website gives Kaj Franck as the designer, neither did he work for Iittala in the 1960s.
Here is a >> link (http://www.skandium.com/product-viewer.asp?id=1328) with a more reasonable explanation :)

Michael, thank you, I've amended the ID in the subject line to show just Iittala.
