I picked this up today and knowing it was Caithness, I now add ?? It is the right height at 23cm, and the right colour. The question is.....The etching of the Kingfisher just seems less polished than the ones I have seen on Scottish Glass and in their makers Section there is no SM or WS (depending on which way is up). Is it what I am supposed to know it is ;D ;D or is, once again, the little knowledge I have leading me the wrong way again ! It was very cheap so not worried either way but if anyone wants some decent pictures for reference sites (if Caithness) I will take some later and post. Until then these will do.

It is actually a Hummingbird not a Kingfisher. They eat small fish - hence the name. I like it but it seems quite a few items were not on the list in various publications about Caithness. I think I have four pwts, so far, not mentioned in the 2nd Edition Caithness Pwts book from Charlton's.

Thanks ahremck, Dont know why I put Kingfisher although I would prefer the Kingfisher, I see one at the lake near me regularly, mostly as a blue flash. We don't get many Hummingbirds up here. ;D ;D I just felt the other vases I saw were with a much better style of Hummingbird and the Initials not matching designers listed on Scottish Glass. Any idea of age for these ?

1970s through to 2000s, but only judging by the peat colour of the vase.
