Hi

I'm sure that I can help with ID, if you can post some images that expand to a larger size so we can see the canes.

Hi.

Although the bottle shape could be Chinese, the canes look rather Old English to me - maybe Richardson. Is the bottle lead crystal, or soda lime glass? And does it have any colour to the clear glass - is it yellow tinted? What is the base like - a concave polished base, or ground but unpolished, or flat...? Any information would help.

Hello Alan.
I will give more information.
The inkwell weights 1200 gramm and is 9,5 cm in diameter and also 9,5 cm in heigh.
The bottle was made in lead crystal glass and the glass is clear, not tinted.
The base is a little bit concave, with a rough and unfinshed pontil.

Hi.

The extra information and images convince me it is Old English, and was made by Richardson.  I could not really put a date on it though, other than earlier than 1914.

A lot of Richardson bottles are found without stoppers (or with the wrong stoppers) because some of the stoppers had very thin shafts - not much thicker than a pencil - and got broken easily.
