This vase hase been donated to the IOW hospice for sale . If we can identify it it will aid the sale and perhaps the price we can charge - any suggestions gratefully received. It is 6" tall and 3.2" in diameter. It is amber in colour which shades to orange at the base.

Hi Jeanne,
it´s been made by WMF / Geislingen in Germany; datewise I´d say around 1970.
It also comes in a bigger size of ca. 20cm and in a greenish amber version
containing uranium.
Regards,
Dirk

Thankyou for that. We will now try to sell it in one of our shops!
-
Glad I could help - and good luck with your sale! It is such an important work
you are doing! :hiclp:
For future reference I´ve added the bigger uranium version. It´s 18.5cm tall
and 11cm wide.

I think the IoW smaller one is uranium too, definite green highlights there.
Expect an email Jeanne. ;)

Christine, both sizes come with and without uranium. The non-uranium ones are orange/amber
cased with a layer of green - therefor the green look of the bumps on Jeanne´s piece.
The uranium ones are made of an amber glass mixed with uranium. I suspect, WMF
stopped using uranium at a certain point, but continued the design; but that´s just a wild
guess.
There´s still a chance I misinterpret the picture. :kissy:

It's difficult to tell isn't it.
Jeanne, do you have a UV light for checking notes at your shop?
-
I am sorry we do not. The original picture is a very good representation of the colour which is even over the main body but definitely a strong orange by the base.
-
Thought you might like to know we sold this for £18 in one of our shops.

Good result Jeanne, and thanks for updating us. Glad the board is helping your charity shops.
