Title: Harrach Documented 1860 Classical Period Vases
Post by: BSevern on July 16, 2012, 01:11:13 AM
I think many of you will find this small article interesting.  I discuss photographing the Harrach design books, and show never before seen design book drawings matched to a pair of recently acquired vases.

Hi Brian
Thank you for adding a link to the catalogues and for your information you've shared.
I've added a thread on the glass board which shows what I think is another of the vases in this range? It is 14" in height.

Brian, thank you for adding the link here, and what a mammoth task you've undertaken, thank you! I'm setting this topic sticky so it stays at the top of the forum listing instead of losing it down the other discussions, so others will be able to find it easily too.

Looking for something else, as is always the way, I stumbled upon this pair of vases (see far left of the link picture).
http://www.miloslavbecka.cz/skla/index.php?page=album&photo=031.JPG&position=32

They look to have white opaline bodies with a pale peachy brown 'wash' over the body of the vase , a bulbous merese between the body and foot that I think was gilded and then a dark jade green enamelled splayed foot.
The picture on the front of both is the same as the musician on the left of Brian's two vases.

So are they also Harrach vases from this period please?
