Title: Scarce piece of Harry Powell Whitefriars!
Post by: Lustrousstone on November 17, 2011, 08:43:15 PM
Just thought I'd make all you early WF fans green (or blue!).
A Harry Powell Mount Jerizim vase in blue. Pattern number 1251. Don't seem to be many of these about!

Incredibly pretty design.  I like all these early pieces, they have an ethereal quality to them.  I've never heard of this so I shall do a bit of looking tonight to read more.  What size is it btw?

11 cm tall, but there's almost nothing about it online. It is based on a Roman vase that Harry Powell saw in Birmingham Museum that had been found on Mount Jerizem (Gerizim)

It's lovely, I could marry it, but my wife might object, on the grounds I am already married.  It's very Woodchester.
