Hi,
I purchased this Kosta Bowl today which had the Kosta sig plus some initials which are new to me, I wonder if someone out there can identify them for me please. The bowl or ashtray measures 14cms by 13cms and is a little over 4cms tall, good all round condition but lots of scratches on base so probably used as an ashtray.
Much obliged as always.

I have seen an identical bowl on UK Ebay today (from Denmark) discribed as being Holmegaard

Bryn,
It's Kosta LH 1609

Thanks, but does the LH mean anything, ie. Is it a designers monogram?
Cheers

Bryn,
LH means (I am told) designed by Lindstrand and handformed (rather than a mould I presume).
Designed around 1958 59 - I don't know how long in production

Hi,
Yes, of course, it could be that. However I've just been busy searching through the message board archives as i thought the initials were EH not LH and I noticed a Kosta bowl purchased by Max on Ebay some time ago that was designed by Erik Hogland. The piece is not disimilar in basic design.
But your theory is most probably the correct one, thanks.
