Title: Molineux, Webb & Co Lidded Preserve bowl for Neil
Post by: mhgcgolfclub on May 10, 2011, 07:15:20 PM
I bought today this Molineux, Webb & Co lidded bowl . I think it may be a preserve bowl or marmalade as it would have had a spoon .

I have included a picture of the sugar bowl to show the difference in size. Both pieces marked for the 1st May 1865

Thanks Roy, I'll save off the photos.

The sugar basin and a similar celery were both registered on 1st May 1865, with other Greek Key items being registered in 1864,1865 and a few later than that, such as a biscuit barrel. You get a good sense of the set from a snippet included here from their pressed glass catalogue where you can see your item.
