Title: strathearn / Peter McDougal / john Deacons paperweight bowl

i got this bowl yesterday and i thought strathearn and it still could be, i've been chatting to Richard More on the bowl and he think's it could be strathearn but he's never seen one before, other possibiltys he said could be Peter McDougal, John Deacons after strathearn or even Selkirk, it measures 9" long and 6" across

Hi Ray,

I don't know for sure, but I think it could be a John Deacons' piece. It looks like it started out as a "Flower In The Rain" weight, which is certainly seen with mottled pink ground, three green leaves and five coloured petals. However, in this case, the petals seem to have turned out very translucent and therefore not right for finishing as the regular paperweight (which would have had an outer covering of air bubbles).

Rather than waste the work, it has been flattened out and finished off as a shallow bowl. At least, that's my theory.

hi ray ive got some paperweights old there marked on some of them could u tell me any thing about them
