Title: Help really appreciated with these Lasi vases
Post by: hanne on January 29, 2011, 09:23:24 PM
Hi there

I need to sell these Lasi vases but I really want to find out who the designer was and anything else (maybe value) you might know about them.
Thanks

Hanne

Welcome to the board Hanne.

Value is tricky - depends on many factors, searching completed listings on ebay gives a rough guide. This is the vase on the right of your photo: http://www.designlasi.com/en/content/pompadour-1945-still-nanny-en
I have never seen the vase on the left before so I guess they are not found that often.

John, Thank you very much for the info about the little Lasi. I did find one just like it on Ebay. Thanks. I really appreciate it. :o)

Now I am very interested in the other Lasi. It is 10 1/2 inches or 26 1/2 cm. I spent all day on the internet trying to find one like it but I havent found anything, so if anyone knows anything about it I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks :o)

Lasi may be elusive but she always comes home...

The word LASI, like the Chzech word SKLO, means glass.

the label you're looking at is Riihimäen Lasi - glass from Riihimäki. (be patient with te Fininsh, please)

so properly speaking, this is Riihimäki glass. Not just glass.

I admit, it is not obvious.

Nice vases, though!

In deed, Ivo, thanks.
Hanne,  a hint to help your googling...  Try the search words "Pagoda, Nanny Still"  ;)

Wow...you guys are amazing. Thanks for all your help. Thanks John for your help with the tall vase/candlestick. So it is a candlestick. I thought it was a vase.

Thanks

Hanne

Quite a few Riihimaen pieces are dual candleholder/ vases.
As are Dartington!

wow Robert...Very nice collection. I think I like it better in Green ;o) Anyway, my two Lasi's are up for sale now.
I am from Denmark and collect Royal Copenhagen. I dont have the space for two kind of collections, but I am really impressed with the Scandinavian Glass Art. Really beautiful.
