This 6" high vase screams Scandi IMHO :D, followed by a whispered Riihimaki? or Bo Borgstrom for Aseda  What does anyone think please?
TIA ;)

Hi Anne,
Amongst my reference photos I've a picture of a straw coloured one of these with a Sea Glasbruk label.
Happy New Year :spls:

Hmmm.
I used to have an 8" tall one of these in yellow (straw?), and it had a Hovmantorp label.

That's interesting Chris. I've never heard of Hovmantorp before. Hovmantorp appears to be a locality situated in the glass making area of Smaland, Sweden. I just wonder if the label indicates the place of origin or an actual glass works? Does anyone know?
I found these 2 vases dating back to the 60s-70s showing the Hovmantorp label. http://www.modernistglass.co.nz/glasspieces/view/2180

Hello Anne,
Yep, that's the same label and - it would appear - the same colour of glass. Those two vases appear to have ground rims, whereas mine wasn't, as best I can remember.
I read that there were/are a bunch of smallish studios operating in Hovmantorp who marketed jointly.
That's all I know, really. It'd be nice if someone could nail that down for us.

Now there's one on eBay with an Aseda label. Ho-hum.

Chris, although similar in shape they are not the same, with your amethyst vase the shape seems more accentuated. (Your floor vase in the previous photo is probably Italian). My vote (on a hunch) would be for Aseda.
John.
