Title: Early Strathearn?
Post by: Ma66Be92 on July 28, 2013, 05:32:32 PM
Hello,
I have this paperweight that looks a bit like Ysart and  also like Strathearn, the millefiori canes are very dark and the ribbons are red, an unusual combination? The ground is almost black and the glass light violet. How do you find it? Thank you very much for your comments. Best regards,
Ma.

Hi.

I think you have a paperweight from the 'late Vasart - early Strathearn' period, which no one can yet tie down to a specific date. The light violet glass suggests to me Vasart rather than Strathearn, but it depends somewhat on how long it has been left sitting in sunlight. There are so many colour combinations of these that I don't think any are 'unusual' or 'common'.
