I have a 9" high stretch curved barrel shape vase. The whole length of the vase is covered by eight rings of short vertical cut and the base is cut too. The end result is there is no flat surface on body or base.
The base is engraved with mark"Tipperar" below with the mark"(R) inside a circle." The inside view is really lovely as the cutting give it a sort of Pine Cone effect.
I can not find any information on the mark or the vase in all the book l got hold off. Any information will be most appreciated.

It's probably Tipperary crystal from Ireland. All the counties in Ireland make crystal Galway crystal, Tipperary etc.

Can you post a picture please?

I will post a photo when l able to sort out how.
Thanks Pat for the input. But the mark definitely say Tipperar.
Could it be a Irish designer's name? May be somebody know what mark does Tipperary Crysal use?
By the way Pat l bought this vase at the B'ham Wholesale Market (Sunday
Market) for £2.50. What a bargain and in perfect condition.

LOts of these etched marked marks have ends or bits that appear to be missing especially if it is on top of the cutting. A photo is needed but I still think it is Tipperary Crystal, the Irish do indeed make beautiful crystal. Go to www.tipperarycrystal.com and look at the patterns on their classic designs.

I think you'll find your vase is Tipperary Crystal in the cut they call Heather. See it at www.replacements.com.
It is a discontinued design so will not be on the Tipperary Crystal web site. At £2.50 it was a very good bargain.

Thanks . Pat.
I think you are right. It is pattern " Heather".
Thanks again.
