I'd like to share pics of this lovely Czech Samuel Reich 1934 amethyst purple large lidded box/pot found in a charity shop. Posting in the Trinket Sets section as Pamela has a blue version in with her lidded boxes on http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de although I may have read somewhere it could be a biscuit barrel/cookie jar.

Oh wow! That is just too gorgeous for words, Jayne! I love that colour.

Thanks Anne, same here. :)

We have more examples of the trinket set pieces with the catalogue image on GTS, Jayne:

I can add amethyst to the known colour list too now. :)
PS How tall is yours please?
-
Anne my Amethyst jar is approx 16cm (6.5") tall x 12.75cm (5") diameter.
I'm assuming it's the Czech Reich pattern book number 8797. :)

I think you're right, Jayne. The 1934 catalogue gives the diameter of pattern 8797 as 130mm.
