Please could someone help me to identify a piece of pressed glass that I have recently purchased. It has an impressed mark on the bottom. Which consists of three letters in upper case. V A forms a square shape with a D on top and centre of the VA. Then FRANCE is impressed under this square mark. This is a lovely bowl and I would love to know who made it. Thankyou.
-
I believe its Lalique and was VDA Verrerie d' Alsace

We'd love to see a picture of the bowl and the mark if possible please.

THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR QUICK REPLIES. I tried to attach a photograph but could not my file was too big. Regards Sheila

hello Sheila
if your pics. are resolved at the normal size, then you will never be able to post them. The board are careful to remind us that 125 kb is the largest acceptable size.
However, all is not lost. Simlply down load the 'www.irfanview.com' programme from the internet (its completely gratis) - and you can then image re-size your pics. to whatever you want. Then we can see your bowl.
cheers Pau.

Thankyou Paul I will do just that. ::) sheila
So I have downloaded the irfanview .com but I am not computer literate so how do I go about resizing my images please? :spls:

FILE > OPEN to find the image
IMAGE > RESIZE/RESAMPLE to adjust size
FILE > SAVE to save

sheila - are you now o.k., or not.
You must have the 'red splattered cat' icon on the screen before you can proceed.

Sorry for making this a "Irfanview identification mark" topic but I never knew it was a cat.
Always just thought of it as a red blurb ;D

I expect you're right NKP - I have'nt been looking at it for more than a week or two - but looked at quickly the outline struck me as a squashed red moggy.
Well, as long as it works. Paul.

I thought I had succeeded but not so. I am selling the bowl on Ebay - so you would be able to view it there under Lalique Glass. Thanks for all your help. Sheila
