Title: huge glass beer stein with L on base very heavy glass - ID = Libbey, USA

this piece is very heavy.. it has L in the base and the bottom is very deep heavy glass. the handle has criss crosses at the top for the thumb.. It appears to have been made in a two piece mould.. stands 20 cms tall any ideas as to origin please
