Title: Definitely not Orrefors as advertised, but who might have made it?
Post by: ahremck on May 21, 2012, 10:01:20 AM
I bought this PWt off Ebay from Bulgaria on spec.  I did not believe it to be Orrefors as claimed but it was interesting anyway.  When I complained they refunded the purchase price and I still have it - but now I would like to try to find a maker as in many ways it is well done.

The actual sunbather is a very thin layer c. 5mms above the orange "sand".  The base is only roughly polished and the side stand is finished the same way.  The glass is also a very pale brown - not what I would eexpect form a piece like this if it came out of China.   Otherwise I have to say it is very neatly put together.

An ideas as to where it was made would be appreciated.

Ross

Its an interesting weight and has several distinguishing characteristics,  I am surprised nobody has narrowed it down as yet. Roger.
