Title: Mueller Ladies

I am very pleased to now have both versions of Mueller ladies... though I prefer the flapper  :)

The flapper lady has  Registered No. 749772 Foreign impressed on base. Which I found was (Imported by L.Cohen 4.11.1929) by Schweig, Müller & Co., I read somewhere that the head was changed  in keeping with fashions of the day so I suppose the amber form one came later...  all I need now is the bowls and or the lamps they stood in and on. :)

.... There are many variants of this lady by Mueller. It seems also that each were used/applied for a variety of centrepieces & bowl types and/or stand-alone figurines. I have seven such ladies, all of which are Mueller and yet display slight different qualities: e.g. their heights & hair-forms and the glass frogs/bowls etc., in which they stand.

A few years late but hopefully still of interest Angela, the lamp still has the X shaped fitting shown in Pressglas Korrespondenz:

She also has "REGISTERED 749772 FOREIGN" on the base, the lamp has no mark at all. It looks great lit, gonna replace the flex with something a bit more in keeping...

Would this be another version of these ladies?  I have it standing in a Schwieg -Muller bowl with a vertical leaf pattern.


While we are on the subject, could anyone please briefly explain to me why there seems to be such uncertainty about the company?  Three versions of their name and some sources seem to think that they were Czech rather than German.

There is also a thread here in the Trinket Sets section where some people including myself believe the "Egyptian" trinket set ladies are very similar to these Muller Ladies, hair style, belts, skirts and colours, but these sets have been seen with Czech labels so possibly the confusion comes from there.  ???
