Not sure about the owl Tiger, but it looks like new production to me.

What's the vase in the background, it looks kinda like Royo, but is it green??

Edit: I mean the enamelled one with birds and flowers on...

The owl had a piece of blank yellow paper covering the base which I probably should not have removed.

There was me thinking it was signed "Rolo", as in, my last Rolo.

Yes, it's green, um, you're not going to tell me it's worth hundreds are you?

  Tiger, maybe not worth hundreds, but I think green is a little unusual.  I seem to remember Ivo has one in a kind of straw colour glass from memory.  I've got a couple in the more usual blue.

Search under 'Royo' on the message boards, I think you'll find Ivo's posting and you can see my lidded comport thingy too.

There's a connection with Royo (so the saying goes) to Moser, but I think it's unconfirmed.  I think Royo are made in Spain, and they're jolly expensive to buy there.  Not sure if your green vase means it's an earlier production or something.   :?  :)

What a very interesting read that was.  8)

And thank you Max for spotting my Royo vase.  :D

Meanwhile the millefiori owl got forgotten...

The 'eye' canes are here: http://www.crloo.com/Products/Lampworking_Glass/Effetre/Effetre_5/effetre_5.html

I don't remember seeing this first time around. But I thik the millefiori owl is Murano. The cane used for the eyes is very distinctive and I am sure I have seen it before - but can't recall where.

Yep! That's the place. And the blue-white-etc canes in the owl body are very similar to ones in the selection shown in that page.

This means, of course, the maker of the owl could be anyone, anywhere, who has used Effetre-Moretti canes. :)

Owl looks very much like items I've seen from La Murrina who now have outlets in every major Italian city.

Royo I now have in blue, amber and green  and I think those are all the base colours. I've yet to see a red one.

La Murrina appear to be a marketting organisation for multiple glassmakers:

At least that is what it appears to be now, it is also franchising its name, designs.

But no trace of such critters  :(

5 years later....   ::)

I think it was made by Livio Campanella, here are the canes (Murr18)... http://liviocampanella.com/content/view/13/33/

And here's the owl in a different colour.... http://liviocampanella.com (http://liviocampanella.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,34/category_id,1/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,33/)

Good one, Tigerchips.

And the liviocampanella pages help out with some "uncertain maker" small vases & jugs that have been queried in Glass / Murano. I'll add a comment when I can find the relevant thread(s)

I think that what we now have is confirmation of various items and shapes made by Livio Campanello but using canes made by Moretti/Effetre.
