Title: clichy double overlay?
Post by: judi3434 on September 22, 2012, 09:40:48 PM
Hi, I'm new and looking for help already.
Sorry no photo need to use imagination! have just been to see a 'Clichy' and was not convinced. The base had been ground forming pyramid type nodules and looked pretty new. Two canes were marked 'CP' and '89' or '68'. Just didn't look or feel right. Any clues as to what it may be. Looked every inch a Clichy pink double overlay until you looked further. Glass possibly slighted yellowish tinge.
The mushroom I expected to see had collapsed into the base - the canes were mounted onto a goldy type base.If the base hadn't been ground you would not be able to see the canes. Any ideas much appreciated. Judi

Difficult to say much based on just a verbal description but a base of gold colored glass (was it sparkly?) sounds like gold aventurine and would make me think of Murano long before it would antique French.

Certainly not clichy for certain.  CP cane not ringing any bells for me.  Can you get a pic?
