Title: Whitefriars silver wedding goblets Commemorative Glass
Post by: rolph on July 19, 2010, 07:41:31 AM
Hi all,
I have been told about this website and am a new member just registered.

Not really knowing my way around yet, hope to be able to get some info on my QE II goblets.
WHITEFRIARS QE II SILVER WEDDING  GOBLET(s) 1947 -1972
SIGNED BY WILLIAM J WILSON
LIMITED EDITION p /o 2000
IN MINT CONDITION.
APPROX  7.5" HIGH, NICE TEARDROP IN STEM.

I HAVE SET OF SIX, BUT ONE WITHOUT CERTIFICATE

If anybody could give an idea of value of singular and all six it would be very much appreciated.
Is there a way of adding photographs, can anybody guide a "not too clever with computers" old boy with step by step guidance??
thanks

Monty

Hi Rolph and welcome to the board. I can't help with the value of your goblets (as they're Whitefriars I'll add that to the topic title for you to entice in those who will be able to help) but I can offer guidance with photo posting. Take a read through this help topic: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html and you should manage it, but if you do get stuck feel free to email me directly (click wee envelope below my name on the left) for help or ask on the board and one of us will come rescue you.

Welcome to the board. Valuations are very subjective and also depend on whether you want sell (and where) or if you want insurance valuations. Members here are unlikely to commit themselves to values, as this is not the purpose of the board.

Hi Rolph now is not a good time to sell these , there are quite a lot around !!! they are undervalued and would cost a fortune to have made today , i would either put them away for a couple of years or use them , the quality is first class , you cant buy better .

Hi

thanks for your input.

I do love Whitefriars and the likes will never be seen again . I have 8 in total and have twin girls . I did buy two originally for the future for them but I also saw these and bought them also . You are right they are lovely things and the claret always tastes that much better out of a fine glass!

I just wondered what they would bring but quite happy to keep them .

Whitefriars original glass is no more to be made and so I guess I will keep them.
Wedding they may look up!!
