Title: A tiny Vizner vase Hermanova 20053 .... with a Made in Poland label
Post by: Anik R on November 23, 2011, 03:35:59 PM
A few weeks ago, I won what I believe is a tiny Vizner 20053 winged vase, Hermanova Hut 1962... the measurements and dimensions are a perfect match for the pattern:
Weight: 313g
Height: 8,5cm
Width: 9,5cm

You can imagine my confusion when I got it today and found a 'Made in Poland 24% Leaded Crystal Hand Cut' label on it.  Made in Poland?  Crystal?  Hand cut?  Something's wrong...

It turns out someone very 'cleverly' stuck a label over a closed, but slightly bulbous air bubble and a scratch...  :ac1:

Oh Anik,  that was a rotten thing for them to do.....one of the reasons I hate labels....they get taken off pieces that are identifiable without a label and kept to put on something that needs a label to  make it sell!!  AAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!
Hope you didn't have to pay too much for it....will you challenge the seller?

Anik, I am sure right vase, wrong label :usd:
Looks exactly like mine (https://picasaweb.google.com/107330317087089352634/CzechSU?authkey=Gv1sRgCIm0tNfk6uCW3wE#5632502270351596050) (which certainly is neither lead crystal nor hand-cut)

Nice vase, but soooo big in comparison to the similar Viznerova piece ;D

I had a label issue as well a short time ago: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,43100.0.html (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,43100.0.html)

Michael, if you want it to be lead crystal and hand cut, I could give you a label for it. Or, I could give you the label and you could begin a lovely 'mislabeled' collection.   ;D

I'm glad it really is what I thought it was.  By the way, how tiny is the Viznerova piece in comparison to the 20053?  This piece is small enough -- I can't imagine a vase being much smaller.

Rosie, thankfully I didn't pay a huge fortune.  I won it for 5zl, so with postage I paid a total of 11zl.  I suppose it's a fair enough price for the piece.  I will still write to the seller though, and politely inform him of the damage which was hidden behind the label. Maybe he'll return a portion of my money.

Thank you for your comments!

That's just amazing...  how small can a vase possibly get?  Michael, thank you for giving me a visual.  Greatly appreciated!  :kissy:
