My Holmegaard warrior...  Aine suggested he was Holger Dansk rather than a Viking... I just love him!

Ok, here goes!
Göran Wärff obelisk and Ulf Johansson graal vase. Ulf Johansson works alone in his atelier, Sjöhyttan and produces some stunning pieces.

Can see the photos aren't terribly good, sorry about that. Here are a couple more..

The first one is a glass made by one of the students at Kosta Boda about 5 or 6 years ago. Reminds me of a scorpion.
The next is by a Dane who lives in Småland, Jens Eltorp. The engraver is Anneli Jonsson.

and a couple more..the batteries died in the camera after that ( probably just as well! ;D  ;D )

The sculpture is by Monica Backström for Kosta Boda. It is designed to  sit upon a light source. Looks beautiful in the dark.
The bowl was designed by Lisa Bauer (Kosta Boda) and  engraved by N. Joansson. Kosta Master Pieces from 1984.

Thanks so much! My collection is almost exclusively Scandiavian, have only 6 or 7 pieces that don't come from here  :D
When the batteries are re-charged I could take a couple more pictures, or is that OTT? Please say if it is.. I won't be offended.

here's another one.. Indian Head by Bertil Vallien for Kosta Boda. With plinth, 33 cm tall. Solid glass, one of my absolute favourites!

a couple more..
The first is a prototype by Gunnel Sahlin at Kosta Boda. I don't think it was ever put into production, does anyone know if it was?

The second is an Orrefors Expo 1996 by Lena Bergström. (This is the one in Glass Café " Help advice needed!")

In my opinion three of the greatest works of Scandinavian glass are:

Bacchus Bowl by Simon Gate and the engravers at Orrefors Glasbruk. One of eleven was in our possession.

The ten color overlay graal vases of figures by Eva Englund and the masters at Orrefors Glasbruk. We have a mermaid graal work.

And the largest crystal sculpture in the world at Sergels Torg - Stockholm by Edvin Öhrström and the masters at Lindshammar Glasbruk. I wish I owned this sculpture.

I think that if I had a Bacchus bowl, my heart would rule my head! Ditto an Eva Englund mermaid graal..
Where would you put the Sergels Torg sculpture, Bill?

My two " wish I owned them" would be the Fireworks bowl by Edvard Hald and Vicke Lindstrand's Cathedral vase. Sigh..

That was a good question about where I would place Öhrströms large sculpture consisting of over 88,000 cast glass pieces. It should stay where it is.

My wife agrees with your pick by Edward Hald on Fireworks but she has a special work called "Broken Bridge" by Hald.

For those who don't know it, this is the piece Bill and Aine are talking about! ;)
http://www.vad1.com/photo/stock/n40-2.html and this is the man who designed it: http://www.worldartglass.com/index.asp?mc=art2

Just amazing!

I read somewhere that when Hald finished the first fireworks bowl he held it up to look at it and caught a light fitting shattering it and it was going to be for the king.OUCH is the polite version.

Thank you Anne for the photo of the Öhrström art glass.

The folklore at Orrefors says that Simon Gate was holding up the Bacchus bowl and chipped the rim on a light fixture. This is why there are two
versions of the bowl - one with a plain rim and one with scallops on the rim.  I prefer the one with the scallop rim.

A total of 11 bowls were created. At one time; I had ID 10 and where they were located.

I am not aware of a similar story involving Edward Hald and Fireworks.

Well Bill it was about thirty years ago that i read about it,my memory is not so good these days so it may have been Gate/Bacchus but it did say it shatered and it also said it was to be presented to the king, that i do remember.Gate and Hald are two of the glass worlds greatest. When i get my new camera i have a couple of pieces i would like your opinion on .Regards. JP.love your book i use it a lot.

Aha! I finally got my act together and bought your book, and there it is, "Broken Bridge". Lovely, especially the fossils.

Your book is very comprehensive and makes me realise how very little I know; there are literally dozens of designs that are new to me ;D ( I thought, wrongly, that I had seen a lot of Swedish glass..)

since you talked about Edvin Öhrström, here is a piece thats very rare and 60-70 cm high. Made for Lindshammar. Next to the Bull this is probably one of the larger sculptures he made.(Ofcourse not monumental pieces included).
