Title: A Load Of Old Baubles... Danish?
Post by: Pinkspoons on August 21, 2006, 11:26:49 AM
I bought this pair of glass baubles about 9 months ago in a joblot of Kastrup-Holmegaard and Kastrup baubles. They're a lot more coarsely made than the aforementioned baubles in that they're uneven, full of bubbles and bits... which gives them a certain charm. The blue one is my favourite, as the hanging nipple is in a dark purple glass which catches the light nicely when hung in the window.

But I was just wondering about age / origin.

They were bought in Denmark, and the seller said that these two belonged to her grandparents and her (the seller's) mother remembered them as a child hanging on the tree around the 1920's. Is it likely they're that old or older? Or just a seller's yarn to prompt a sale, and they date from later?

Hi Nic, could I ask you to keep your images a little smaller please - some users with older systems or who are on dial up connections have problems with larger ones, especially when there are several together - and large sizes can also cause problems for the board in terms of excessive use of bandwidth (which has caused the board to be unavailable at times). I've converted the images to links for now. If you wish to insert thumbnails with links to the larger ones please feel free to do so. Thank you.  :)

BTW if you use GlassGallery for your images it creates both large images and thumbnails for you to make it easy to do small image links.  8)

Sorry - I've got a big monitor and 10mb broadband - so the photos are tiny on mine, in both respects. I keep forgetting that not everyone has the same specifications.
