Hi Keith, pretty sure these are not British. Scandinavian more likely Strom for Alsterfors Sweden maybe?
Someone will probably shoot me down but at least it's a starting point, sometimes appear on eBay either as Whitefriars definitely not Whitefriars or a purple coloured example sometime crop up described as Stevens & Williams

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing Nigel and believe it or not my first instinct was S&W from previous corrections when described as W/f plumbed for Altserfors after seeing them described as such on 2 other forums.
