Bought this recently the weight and design attracted me and the price tag, As i always do i tried to id it myself didn't get anything firm except it reminds me of the John Luxton designs for Stuart crystal can anyone concur with me on the possibilities of this or make another id option??The bowl measures 9" diameter 5.5" tall with a foot of 3.5" very heavy over 2kg..thank you.

very nice bowl :) I have looked through Hajdamach's '20th Century British Glass' - alhough unable to see this exact pattern in the chapter on Luxton. However, the outline shape is remeniscent of some pieces in the 'Coolie Hat' range. Would say though, that these multiple fine vertical lines and edge blazes, seem to have been more of an earlier type of design style, rather than the Luxton period. That, however, is just my personal thought. Assume the piece is not signed. :)

Thankyou for your views, Sadly unmarked but i have gone a week or two before with crystal cut glass before finding faint marks in the past, I also have the said book and saw similar designs as you quite tantalising at present but your right its a lovely piece thanyou again!!!

I have a suspicion that you will find a Webb Corbett mark, not Stuart.
