I've just got back from the flea market again !! I found this lovely bowl and stand in a very delicate shade of green. I just wondered if any one could identify the pattern or by the unusual base ? The bowl is approx 10.5 inches in diameter
-
Does anyone have a Jobling book or catalogue ? Could they have a look to see if this pattern is in there ? Please ;D
-
Modern piece by the look??
-
I have a Jobling book, cannot see anything like your piece, unsure if there is other books out there.
Mine is Jobling Art Glass, A Collectors Guide.

Colour is very un-Joblingy and Jobling never used that style of plinth as far as I'm aware. I think your bowl is likely to be continental, but it's not a pattern I recognise unfortunately. Anyway, it's a lovely bowl whoever made it.
I don't think it's modern - looks right for 1930s-50s. The only caveat is that the colour is a little odd and does look a bit like modern recycled glass in your photos. However It's obviously from a good mould and it's been stuck up and cupped, not something I'd expect to see on a newer piece. How is the base finished? If it's ground and finely polished on the pics. If so, that's another sign of quality.

The base is very finely polished and the colour is much more turquoise green in reality, very 1930's colour.

I see someone has a similar colour bowl on Ebay a they say its Czech 150892849947
-
Just noticed that the same seller has a pale green trinket set by Brockwitz for sale too which looks very similar colour to my bowl
-
Have you tested it under a UV light?
-
There was one similar looking bowl ended with no bid recently. Different pattern, but the colour looks very much the same. Item no# 290770247983
-
I have tested it under UV but it does not glow. :(
-
I have found the plinth on Black-poppy and they have it as Jobling ?
http://www.black-poppy.co.uk/Jobling/photo637.htm
-
It doesn't say the plinth is Jobling.
-
Fair point....but it doesn't say it isn't...(ever the optimist) so I have emailed them to ask.....I will let you know if they reply ;)

The set on Black Poppy is a marriage. The plinth does not fearure in the Jobling trade catalogues, nor have I seen it in any other Jobling photographs or advertisements. Jobling art glass bowls were paired with 2535 pattern plinths. I am 99% certain that a green dancing girl figure would never have originally been paired with a jet flower bowl either...
