Title: Set of 4 printed & gilt tumblers - ID help please
Post by: Pip on February 28, 2008, 02:49:43 PM
I bought these recently because they're so funky and are in absolutely pristine condition - they don't look as if they've ever been used.  Any ideas on the maker?  Obviously I immediately thought of AHW but that's just a guess, I know very little about printed glassware.  I'm presuming they're 1970s production because of the typical looking design.  TIA.

Definitely one for Heidi, but there was a French company (Arcoroc or Durand?) mass-producing similar patterns around this time. Cool patterns though.

so did the Italians and the Germans and the Americans - so plenty choices there.

Very cool design. But it's not one of the standard Sherdley/ Ravenhead decorated tumbler shapes.

Dema were the main UK competitor, although there were other smaller companies around. And, as David and Ivo say, plenty of US and other European companies.

Thank you Heidi - it's sometimes just as helpful knowing who didn't make them!  Cheers everyone who contributed - as with lots of things, until we come across one with a label we shan't know for sure.
