Title: Art Deco uranium glass clock with 2 nudes swimming
Post by: oyemicanto on September 24, 2012, 04:20:32 PM
Good afternoon all
My latest addition to my collection arrived today.A wonderful Deco green glass clock decorated with 2 nudes swimming amongst seaweed.Stunning is all I can say and the style is so Lalique.
I have seen this same decoration on a tall slim vase with the nudes swimming around it......was wondering if anyone had any clues as to the maker of this wonderful clock please?
Regards Nige

Hi Nige,  somewhere here on the GMB is a beautiful plate with the same swimmers on....see who can be the first to successfully search it out!!  ;)

Well I was thinking of the Lalique Calypso plate, but the swimmers are different, so on with the search!!  :(

Could it be by August Walther & Sohne? They do uranium glass clock mounts and nudes, although I haven't seen this particular design.

Hello to both of you
Well I will have to take a look for that piece so thanks for that input.
Regarding Walther no fraid it isn't Walther.....this isn't their typical colour green.I have some Walther clocks in green by Walther and they are very different to this one.
The detail is very good though not as good as Lalique! lol
