Title: A flower query
Post by: alexander on February 18, 2008, 02:51:41 PM
Hi, this one came in a lot from USA, it's a bit over 3".
It was sold in an auction which featured many Hamon weights.

It's a very nice flower, the leaves appear lampworked, the petals and core look like
one cane drawn out.

No indentifying marks, the base is polished flat.

It's quite beatiful, my photography does not do it justice.

Thanks for any help  :)

I've had one of these. It's modern Murano and quite a nice weight  :)

I'm impressed, the quality of the flower led me to look away from Murano.

Always nice to snag a nice, not run of the mill, Murano weight  :)
And this one is very nice.

Any idea as to maker?

Thanks  :)

Here´s mine, bought at the same retired dealer in Geneve and again, I was told it is Fratelli Toso - but I´m not sure.

That looks like the same maker allright - a different centre but still.
FT seem to have been pretty prolific at paperweight making and their quality,
imho, is quite high. So I would be surprised if they made ours.
