Title: value of paperweights
Post by: purpleflowers on May 04, 2006, 07:34:04 PM
Hello Everyone!

What a wonderful site!  I am completely new to this, so please bear with me.

I have six paperweights that have been given to me.   :?  I have listed with as much detail below.  I was hoping someone may be able to help as I have absolutely no idea as to their value.  They aren't the best but I do have pictures at the following:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/divmomw2/my_photos

I will identify according to how I named the pictures

Bird:  no markings

Golden Corsage:  Engraved on bottom
                          'Golden Corsage Caithness Scotland 36/250'
One flower petal seems to have a white chip??

P red Whit Blue:  Center cane has 'P'

P White Flower:  Flower has 'P'

Perthshire 1975:  Cane has 'P 1975'
                          Goat, Squirrel & Bear cane
                          'Perthshire Paperweights Crieff Scotland' Sticker

Sugar 'n' Spice:   Engraved on bottom
Sugar 'n' Spice Caithness Scotland Colin Ferris 95 1995

Thanks to you all!  Any information anyone can help me with would be great!

Last one is Colin Terris, who passed away earlier this year.

For identification, all the P ones are Perthshire, the bird is a Chinese weight and the others are Caithness.

For the Caithness paperweights, it's best to buy a copy of Charltons 2nd edition by Colin Terris, which you can buy on Amazon.

Actual value depends on the condition the weights are in, whether they have any scratches, chips, or bruises - and also whether they come with the original box and certificate.

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to say thank you to all who responded to my post.

I will probably be listing these on eBay over the summer.    I'll post the link when I do.

Thanks Again!
