I was sold this as Walther Greta, but after looking at Pamela's site I don't think that identification is correct. Another one of my finds this week
Whole Set (http://www.glassmavenhaven.com/connie/wgreta1.JPG)
trinket showing pattern (http://www.glassmavenhaven.com/connie/wgreta3.JPG)
Candlestick (http://www.glassmavenhaven.com/connie/wgreta4.JPG)

If not Greta, any idea the maker and/or pattern?

Connie, this is one of my items I'm having for years and cannot find the maker - it just drives me crazy sometime!
Glad to see another one with this three stepped foot and six sided matt section!
let's wish us luck here

do I see it right that the dish and boxes have 8 separate feet?! really?! never seen
the tray in a top view is of interest
-
Yes, Pamela the ring holder and 2 trinket boxes have 8 tab feet. The tops of the trinkets have a 8 ray design. The tray has a 12 ray design.
I will try to take better pictures tomorrow, including one of the tray.

The pattern is moulded into the glass, a pebbled texture. It is not applied.

Hey Cheri 8)
Doesn't this set remind you of your Ollie May set? Not the same pattern but the same color, same layout of pieces (I am missing 1 small trinket box) and the trays are very similar.
-
Hi Connie
yes, there are similarities! although the Ollie May is all transparant ice blue.
I have actually just upgraded my photo of the whole set

I KNOW I have seen either your set or something very similar to it Connie, and have actually been trying to jog my memory on where. Will certainly get back to you if I remember.
BTW the Ollie May is on page 393 of HMW 2
-
Thank you, Cheri. I would be appreciative of any information that you uncover.
Yes, I looked in HMW 2 and saw Ollie May. HMW tended to make up names for pieces she didn't know. I tend to think both Ollie May and my set are either British or Continental, not American. :?

I contacted the person from which I bought this set. They claim the covered dishes and candlesticks are pictured in the 1934-35 August Walther & Sons catalogue.
Does anyone have those catalogues that could check this information for me please?
-
Connie
I dont have any Walther catalogues...maybe Pamela or Glen can help there.
I did want to mention that my Ollie May set sold yesterday! :) Sad to see it go, but real happy with the sale. 8)
-
Congratulations on your sale, Cheri :D But I know what you mean, some things I wish wouldn't sell so fast so I could enjoy them a little more
-
Connie, yours is not in Walther 1934 and 1935 - as far as I have got the scans from pressglas-korrespondenz.de - maybe Geiselberger has not issued all pages? Can you ask your seller to scan and mail these? Would be of highest interest to me and all! Thank you!
-
Pamela -
The seller told me she found the identification on this site
http://www.pressglas.de/
She said it was pictured in a catalogue under the archives.
I looked for about an hour last night and could not find the page. But it is difficult for me to navigate since I don't speak German and the English pages are limited
Maybe you could navigate the site more easily.
-
May I suggest that you try the resources at
http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/ (http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/)
A lot is still in German, but there is a lot of catalogue material there about Walther
-
Thank you, Jay. Pamela already said in the post above mine that the set is not in catalogue pages on pressglas-korrespondez
-
Connie, also I do not trace it on pressglas.de - remains difficult item I am afraid :?
If your seller is such certain, why not ask him/her where on pressglas.de? 8)
