Title: Slipper Bath & Wobbly Dish Flygsfors? Reijmyre?

I have these two pieces which I believe are Scandinavian, but  as with anything Scandinavian for me I seem to get bogged down and totally confused. Hopefully someone can help sort this out. Both pieces have flat ground and polished bases and no marks. The slipper bath shaped one looks solid blue but has a half inch rim of clear.

My bowl weighs 810g and does not have the clear glass on the rim.

I've seen one on an antique stall, two at a car boot and two on the "Is It Whitefriars" website.

There is one on Ebay described as "Kosta/Orrefors/Whitefriars Blue Studio Glass Bowl/Dish".

I remember seeing one with a label on saying "LSA" or "SIA" or something similar.  :)

LSA glass is from Poland, and SIA rings a bell, but can't remember if this is also Polish or may be Spanish, but a google will tell.

I know that the firm has three letters in it's title, I think it might be "LSA International" because of the ground pontil and by the colours they use.  :)

Gets more and more interesting. Now we have Bayel and LSA. I have both, a marked piece of Bayel and a labled LSA international made in Poland. In comparing the clear parts of all the pieces, I notice that the slipper bath and wobbly bowl have minute bubbles whereas the Bayel has none and the LSA one stray one. This leads me to conclude the quality of the glass while minor, is different. Now whether this is important, I really don't know. But I have to add that Tiger stop, or you will corner the market on these. Terry

this is one from the Dansk Glas book, so you can be fairly sure the design does not predate 1953.  This one is sapphire blue - the Holmegaard colour. The clear ones with a greyish tinge have to be Bayel. The ones with a dirty blue or red spiral streak and the abominable underside finish are Italian. The ones in deep dark brown bottle glass are Spanish.  I've never seen one from LSA, but I suspect they must be quite heavy.

Thank you Ivo, that cleared it up for me. In comparing my Holmegaard ashtray by Per Lutken in blue to the slipper bath, I am now conviced it must be Bayel. Terry

Sorry, I made a mistake when I said the name of the company has three letters.

I picked up another dark blue one today and it has a label on it!

I am the proud owner of three Ikea vases. Damn.  :oops:

Anne E B was right when she said it could be from Ikea (in another post).  :)

The Holmegaard one also appears to be in the smoked pewter colour too.  :)

I have noticed that my green one is slightly different to my blue one's.

On the blue one's it has a cut around the edge of the base and the green one hasn't.  :?
