Hello,
My Borske Sklo cased red vase with cut and enamelled design from a range exhibited at the Brussels World Expo in 1958 will be auctioned on October 2 at Fieldings. The lot number is 624. See here: http://www.fieldingsauctioneers.co.uk/lotDetails.asp?lotsID=60383&menuItemOn=3&salesID=96&hasImage=1&start=933
Mark Hill, Robert (bOBA) and Jindrich offered a wealth of information about the vase and possible designers here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34008.0.html
Please get the word out -- you may know someone who knows someone who knows someone who might be interested in acquiring this very special vase for their collection.
Thank you ;D

Hello Anik,
Just a few miles from me,if I win the lottery :24: then I'll be putting in a bid ;D
-
Good luck, Anik! :X: :ghug: :sun:
-
Thank you for the kind words!
And Keith, I do hope you win within the next week. ;D
-
Fingers crossed :X: it does well for you Anik. :kissy:
-
Thank you, Anne :kissy:
-
Today... :X:

:X: :X: :X: :X: :X: here :-*

Thank you, Pamela :)
Unfortunately, I still don't know if there was any interest in the vase, and if it sold.
It's so hard to be patient.
-
Phone them and ask in the morning, I phoned them Saturday evening to ask about the selling price on a different lot. I wanted to know if my commission bid was enough and did not want to wait until Monday to find out (when I think they send out the invoices).

Thank you, John... I'm so impatient and itchy about the whole thing, that I will call them tomorrow morning. The not-knowing part is killing me.
:hi:
-
I would feel the same way if I was selling it....
I think I was the winning bidder on the item I was interested in but until I actually receive an invoice for it I won't know for sure. Assuming that I was successful I will need to drive to the auction house this week to collect it. It's a two hour drive from here and I think I will visit Broadfield House glass museum while I am in the general area. :)

Oh, I do hope you have the winning bid on the item you were interested in... Fieldings sent me their catalogue and there were so many beautiful things up for auction -- not only the glass.
A few weeks ago, I went to Stourbridge to deliver my vase in person... I planned on visiting Broadfield House, and even had a fancy google-thing map all printed out. Unfortunately, I'm hopeless when it comes to reading maps and have absolutely no sense of direction. The only reason why I ever made it to Fieldings from the bus station was because the bus-driver took pity on me and walked me there himself. :thud:
I gave up on the Broadfield House glass museum idea...
-
Should have let me know Anik,I could have given you the tour ;D
-
Awww Anik, that sounds just like me! I have no sense of direction either. :kissy:
But if you'd let one of us know you'd be in the UK I'm sure we could've arranged to get you there safely. :rah:
Next time, OK....?
-
Thank you Keith and Anne... :kissy: :kissy:
-
I'm obviously not pretty enough for Keith to offer me the tour, boo hoo.
John
-
I just called Fieldings... the vase did not sell. Ah well. :-\
-
Anik! Noooo.... I was so sure it'd do well for you. What a disappointment for you.
Will it go into another sale?
-
Oh, it's alright, Anne. :)
I still might have a buyer for it -- I'm just waiting for confirmation from Fieldings ;D.
... and if not, then not all is lost. A dear friend called Fieldings for me and found out that my vase may stay with them (at no extra cost to me) until the next specialist-glass auction. Things will be alright. :)
-
A vase as good as that deserved to sell.....
-
Fieldings have your vase listed as sold Anik, have they made a mistake or did you accept the highest bid at a later date?
John
-
Hope it's gone for a good price after all Anik, ;D
Sorry John the offer is open to anyone visiting who needs the tour,if the OH will let me out :o
-
Thank you for your interest, gentlemen :)
The vase sold for 460 GBP -- after deducting commission, a lot charge and an illustration fee, I will get a total of 362.17 GBP.
Of course, it would have been super-stunning if the vase had gone for a thousand or two, but in all fairness, I was told on several occassions that it's not the right time to sell. I'm perfectly satisfied with the end result. :)
