Black glass wall pocket which is 8.25 inches long and 2 inches wide at the top. It is in excellent condition. I have not been able to find a maker. I looked in Toohey's Black Glass 2 (I don't have 1). I also posted this on another board and no one could identify it. One member said they had one in cobalt blue and thought it was newer. But they never posted a picture for me to compare. I do think this is 1920-30s era. It is well made and the mould detail crisp.

Hi Connie - it's the Dugan-Diamond "Woodpecker" wall pocket. It's known in marigold Carnival. It is also found in other colors.
However, it has certainly been reproduced - in fact I saw it a year or two back on a repro website. And yes, a cobalt blue was one of the repor'd colors. I'll try and find the link.

Thank you, Glen! I love Dugan/Diamond Glass. I think it is an over looked and under appreciated glass company.

Absolutely Connie
I love Dugan too - they made some amazing Carnival.
I believe that shards of the Woodpecker vase were discovered at the "Helman Dig" and thus the certain attribution to Dugan.
Super piece you have there.
